In his first season with CBU, the Lancers finished 23-13 and set their DI program record for wins with 23. CBU defeated four ranked opponents on the season and beat Air Force 10-9 in the WWPA Championships. Lowery also helped lead the Lancers to their first-time wins over Santa Barbara, UOP, and #5 Pepperdine. Lowery was a two-time Western Water Polo Association First Team selection, and earned NCAA Division I All-America Honorable Mention and WWPA All-Tournament First Team recognition in his final collegiate season. He graduated as the program's all-time record holder for assists (217), multi-assist games (67) and games with a goal, assist and steal (61). He also set single-season records with 22 multi-assist games and tied CBU's single-game record with seven assists against Fresno Pacific on Oct. 8, 2021. Lowery is originally a two-time Texas State MVP before coming to college. He is married to a fellow Lancer in Kira O'Donell, a standout for CBU women's water polo from 2018-22. The couple attends The Grove Community Church and resides in Riverside.
During the 2026 season, Coach Lowery helped the Lancers to its fifth consecutive 20-win season with a 24-11 record. The Lancers made it to the WCC Title Game for the second straight season where they eventually fell to San Jose State after defeating the top-seeded Pacific Tigers in the semifinals. The Lancers would defeat 8 ranked opponents during the season including top 10 wins over Pacific, Pepperdine, and UCI. The Lancers would have four All-WCC performers and would also earn two All-Americans, including Andrea Nuzzo making it on the Third-Team All-American list.
The 2025 season saw the Lancers finished another successful season after returning to the WCC Tournament Championship match for the third time in the last three years and marking the program's fifth consecutive year with over 20 wins. CBU defeated nine ranked squads and three top-10 ranked wins, while returning to the WCC Tournament Championship. Andrea Nuzzo, Alex Righetti, Rafael Martinez, and Whitley Beamon were all selected to an All-Conference team.
The 2024 season proved to be one of the most successful in recent years after CBU reached the NCAA Tournament with an impressive WCC Tournament win in Northern California. The squad defeated the one-seeded University of the Pacific for a ticket to the tournament finale and the Lancers bested San Jose State University for the WCC Championship. The Lancers put up a stiff fight against two-seeded USC, but ultimately fell 17-13 to close out the historic season. Toring Stanley, Caleb Teraoka, and Bodhi Bowden were all named All-Americans.
The 2023 season saw the emergence of the West Coast Conference era and the Lancers were one of seven members of the brand-new water polo conference alongside Pepperdine, Santa Clara, Pacific, Air Force, San Jose State and LMU. The Lancers first major highlight of the season came in the opening weekend of competition when they downed 7th-ranked UC Santa Barbara, the highest ranked opponent CBU had ever taken down to that point in program history. They also claimed the first-ever WCC conference game win in a thrilling 15-14 triple overtime win over Santa Clara at the Lancer Aquatics Center on October 5.
Other highlights from 2023 include the squads first-ever win over then 15th-ranked Pacific in Stockton on October 14, and finishing the regular season with their eighth consecutive winning record. The Lancers came into the WCC Tournament as the 4-seed, dispatching Santa Clara in the opening round to set up a match against top-seeded and 5th-ranked Pepperdine. The Lancers were unstoppable in that game, defeating the Waves 20-13 for the first-time in program history, claiming the highest-ranked upset ever for CBU, and earning a spot the in inaugral WCC Tournament Championship game. The Lancers would hold San Jose State to just nine goals, but an heroic effort by the SJSU goalkeeper held CBU to just six goals to come up just short of their second trip to the NCAA postseason.
In Lowery's first season on the coaching staff, the Lancers finished 23-13 and set their DI program record for wins with 23. CBU defeated four ranked opponents on the season and beat Air Force 10-9 in the WWPA Championships.
