GOODYEAR, Ariz.--- California Baptist University's men's and women's cross country teams swept the Pacific West Conference Cross Country Championships today hosted by Grand Canyon University.

This is the first time the men and women have competed in the PacWest Conference Championship. On the men's side, three runners--Mark Langworthy, Victor Delgado and Chris Cline--set personal records. Jacquie Lutz also ran her fastest time of the season for the women.

CBU had six runners make first team All-PacWest (Mitchell Moore, Langworthy, Ashlee Cervantes, Lynnea Sjoerdsma, Malaysia Alexander and Jacquie Lutz). Seven runners made All-PacWest second team (Delgado, Sergio Rodriguez, Trevor Henson, Cline, Javier Madrid, Bethany Bilton and Naomi Van Setten).

"I am very happy with the results of both teams," said Interim Head Coach Sean Henning, who was named PacWest Men's Coach of the Year as voted on by his colleagues. "Overall each runner did exactly what was expected of them. We went into today's race not wanting to change our game plan. We wanted to be consistent and by both teams winning today I'd say we accomplished our goal."

In the men's 8k, CBU put four runners in the top 10 and had a team time of 2:05:53, the second fastest time in school history. Academy of Art finished second with a team time of 2:08:45 and BYU-Hawaii finished third with a team time of 2:09:41.
