Gregg Schroeder begins his third season as the assistant men’s soccer coach at California Baptist University.

Schroeder joined the Lancers’ staff after playing professionally in the United Soccer League with the Charlotte Eagles Soccer Club in North Carolina from 2006-10. While playing for the Eagles, Schroeder received all-league honors his rookie season and led the team to three National Championship games.

Prior to his time with the Eagles, Schroeder played professional soccer in Sweden for Ytterby IS in 2005. In his lone season at Ytterby, he was the team points leader in goals and assists.

In 2004 Schroeder played in Indian 1st Division for the Madras Eagles.

Schroeder received his bachelor’s degree in communication studies from Westmont College in 2003. Schroeder played four years at Westmont, during which time he was named to the 2002 All-GSAC team as well as all-region, team captain and defensive MVP. He started all 79 games during his career.

After graduating, Schroeder returned to Westmont as an assistant women’s soccer coach and helped lead the Warriors to the round of 16 at the NAIA National Tournament.

A native of Long Beach, Calif., Schroeder is single and lives in Riverside.
