CLAREMONT, Calif. --- California Baptist University's distance track had seven runners compete in the Cal/Nevada State Championships Saturday afternoon.
"Today was another excellent day for us," said Head Coach Ben Gall. "I was really impressed on how well Jacquie (Lutz) and Naomi (Van Setten) ran today and continue to improve in their running. Anytime you break a school record is a really big deal and a big accomplishment."
Jacquie Lutz finished 10th in the 5000-meter with a time of 17:59.36. Naomi Van Setten finished fourth in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:08.99. Her time broke a school record, which she set two week ago at the Oxy Distance Carnival meet.
Mark Langworthy finished 12th in the 500-meter with a time of 15:35.10. Javier Madrid ran a 32:24.0 in the 10000-meter and finished 12th.
Sergio Rodriguez finished ninth in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a 9:33.50.
The Lancers compete next at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on April 14.
