FULLERTON, Calif. --- California Baptist University's distance track team competed at the Titan Twilight hosted by Cal State Fullerton Friday afternoon.
Ashlee Cervantes finished second in the 800-meter with a time of 2:14.44. Her time qualified her for the NCCAA National Championships and set a personal best. Cervantes also ran in the 1500-meter and finished fourth with a time of 4:49.15. Alexandra Vukov set a personal best in the 800-meter with a time of 2:19.43 and placed ninth in the race.
Bethany Bilton won the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:29.1 and set a personal best, putting her at second on the Lancers' all-time performance list.
"It was great to see how well the girls ran today," said Head Coach Ben Gall. "It's nice to see when one runner breaks a personal best in a race, but to have three runners accomplish that is even better. I'm very proud to see the team's hard work pay off and the improvement throughout the year."
On the men's side, Trevor Henson won the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:42.8. Josh Massey finished right behind Henson at second with a time of 9:58.8.
The Lancers compete next at the Cal/Nevada State Championships tomorrow March 31.
