LAS VEGAS, Nev. --- With training and competition wrapped up at the NCA Collegiate Cheer Camp, California Baptist University returns home with a host of awards including a Gold Paid (automatic) bid to the NCA Nationals in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The Lancers scored a 118 to take home top honors in the All-Girls Division. CBU also won Best All Around Honors, first place in the All Girl Rally routine, first place in the All Girl Game Day routine and second place in the Game Day finals.
"I am so proud of the giant strides that CBU cheer has already made so early in the season," said Head Coach Tami Flemming. "Winning the gold bid has kicked off our year on a high note and I expect to see some amazing things come out of our program between now and nationals. I am positive that this year we are going to break records."
The Lancers are coming off the most successful season in program history last year. CBU earned it's first ever automatic bid to the finals at the NCA College Nationals in 2011, placing a program best fifth at the championship. The NCA College Nationals are held annually in Daytona Beach, Fla. in early April.
