CBU blanked the Penguins early in the day, with Holden giving up just the one hit in the third inning.
The Lancers jumped all over Dominican in the opening inning, getting an RBI single from Sloan McHann and then a two-RBI single from April Vasquez to help CBU go up 4-0. Tina Galinato also scored on a steal by Vasquez in the inning.
Dominican never recovered, as Holden struck out 13 batters in the game. She moves to 12-2 on the season.
The Penguins found their first run of the day in the second inning of the late game, scoring on a Rachel Santiago single to go up 1-0.
CBU fired back in the bottom of the third, getting a triple from Rodriguez and then an inside the park homer from Kendall Gorham to take back the lead for good.
Rodriguez had a pair of triples in the game that would have likely been home runs if it were not for the lack of an outfield fence. The Lancers scored two more in the fourth on Rodriguez's second three-bagger to go up 4-1.
The Penguins mounted a late game comeback, scoring a pair of runs in the sixth, but Holden came in the game and stranded runners on first and second with her 14th strikeout of the day.
Lindsay Henry hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth to help seal the 5-3 CBU win. Holden recorded her second save with a scoreless seventh inning.
Tory Ferreira got the win, moving to 11-2 on the season.
A day after going 5-for-6 with five RBI, Rodriguez was 4-for-7 in the two games against Dominican, with three of her four hits going for extra bases. Gorham went 3-for-7 on the day, also driving in a pair of runs.
CBU moves to 23-4 overall, 9-3 PacWest with the sweep and Dominican falls to 2-21, 0-10.
The Lancers now head back to Riverside, hosting Hawaii-Hilo for a noon doubleheader on Saturday. Both games will be shown live on cbulancers.com as the Lancers look to overtake the second place Vulcans in the conference standings.
