RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- After just the first weekend of California Baptist University's 2011 season, Kimberly Allard has been named the PacWest Player of the Week, announced by the PacWest Media Office on Wednesday, Sept. 7.
Allard is the first PacWest player of the week in program history, and the second in university history after volleyball player Ingrid Carmona earned the same honor earlier this week.
In the Lancers' season opening 4-0 victory over Northeastern State on Thursday, Sept. 1, Allard had a hand in three of CBU's four goals, including scoring the game-winning goal at the 20:01 mark. She also assisted the game's second and fourth goal in her collegiate debut.
Goalkeeper Nicoline Jorgensen earned PacWest Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll recognition. In two games, Jorgensen recorded six saves on seven shots on goals.
