PHOENIX, Ariz --- California Baptist University goalkeeper Nicoline Jorgensen has been named Pacific West Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week.
The honor was announced by the conference office Monday. It includes games played Oct. 17-23.
The senior from Denmark becomes the fourth different Lancer to earn the PacWest's top weekly honor joining teammates Kimberly Allard, Fabiola Zanella da Silva and Amanda Lammers.
Jorgensen helped lead the Lancers to a perfect 3-0 week in Hawaii, playing all 270 minutes in the goal last week.
She shutout Hawaii Pacific 2-0 Monday and then followed that with a 2-0 win over BYU-Hawaii Wednesday, handing both of those teams their first conference losses of the season. For BYU-Hawaii, it was its first loss of the season. Then, on Saturday, she helped the Lancers to a 6-1 win over Hawaii-Hilo to conclude the Lancers' perfect week that put them in the driver's seat for the PacWest title with three games to go.
For the week, Jorgensen corralled 11 saves, recording a 0.33 goals against average. For the season, Jorgensen leads the PacWest with six shutouts, and she is second with a 0.53 goals against average.
The Lancers (12-1-1, 8-0-1 25 points) host Grand Canyon (8-4-2, 7-1-1 22 points) Wednesday and can clinch a tie for the PacWest title with a win over the 'Lopes. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
