RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- Brenna Hahn earned her first career Golden State Athletic Conference Player of the Week honor Monday, after leading No. 5 California Baptist University to two big wins last week.
The senior guard averaged 17.0 points and five rebounds per game as the Lancers won both of their GSAC games and extended the team’s longest winning streak of the season to eight games.
For the week, Hahn shot 9-for-13 (.692) from the field, including 6-for-8 (.750) from 3-point territory, and 10-for-12 at the line. In a blowout of Point Loma Nazarene, she scored 22 points on 7-for-7 shooting from the floor, including 5-for-5 from 3-point range, and grabbed 6 rebounds. In a road win at No. 6 Biola, Hahn was the Lancers’ second leading scorer and hit 7-of-7 foul shots.
The Lancers’ win in the NAIA’s game of the week at Biola helped CBU maintain a one game lead atop the conference standings and dropped the Eagles to third in the GSAC. CBU has won 11-straight GSAC matchups since losing its conference opener.
With her performance behind the arc last week, Hahn moved to fifth on CBU’s career 3-pointers list with 152. On the season Hahn is averaging 14.8 points per game, shooting 40 percent from the field and 37 percent from behind the arc.
Hahn’s weekly honor, along with teammate Dana Olsen’s two, gives CBU three total this season, more than half of the five awarded by the conference thus far.
