CBU upped its shooting after a season-low 22.7 percent last night, hitting 44.6 percent on Thursday, but turned the ball over 26 times, the third highest total of the year.

It was the first time all year CBU has given up 80 points.

CBU shot 54.2 percent in the opening period, but committed 17 turnovers to enter the break tied at 34-34.

The Lions got the majority of their scoring in the first half off the bench. Five reserves in Emmanuel's 12 player rotation contributed offensively in the half.

Conversely the Lancers played eight deep, getting nine bench points. Simone Holmes scored nine and Nicole Anderson had eight.

The teams played nearly even for a majority of the second half, with CBU going up by as much as six early in the period.

The Lions drew even nearing the 10 minute mark and as the score was tied four times over the next five minutes.

CBU trailed by five, 74-69, with two minutes to play after a Holmes jumper. That was the last basket CBU would make, however, as Emmanuel scored the last six points to seal the 11-point win.

Karylyn Young of Emmanuel led all scorers with 25 points and 10 rebounds for the double-double. It is the second straight game the Lancers have allowed a 25-point scorer with Christina Whitelaw dropping 27 last night.

Holmes led the Lancers with 21 points, going 7-for-14 from the floor. Jasmine Beverly added a double-double with 12 points and 13 boards. It is the 11th straight game Beverly has led the Lancers in rebounding.

CBU drops to 21-7 on the season and will play Roberts Wesleyan Friday at 3 p.m. (EDT) in the seventh place contest.
