Hicks And Holmes All-PacWest

RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- The Pacific West Conference released the 2012 All-PacWest Women's Basketball teams and California Baptist University's Myriah Hicks and Simone Holmes were honored.

Hicks garnered first team honors, while Holmes was named to the second team. Grand Canyon's Maylinn Smith was named conference Player of the Year

Hicks was one of eight players on the All-PacWest first team.

CBU's junior point guard led the team in scoring, assists and minutes per game this season, averaging 14.1 points, 3.2 assists and 30.2 minutes over the course of 26 games this year. Hicks was second in the conference with 159 free throws made, shooting 79.9 percent from the foul line.

Holmes was the Lancers' second leading scorer, averaging 13.2 points per game as she and Hicks were the only two CBU players to average in double figures for the top scoring offense in the PacWest. Holmes shot 42 percent from the field this season and grabbed 48 rebounds and 46 steals. She was also second on the team with 15 blocks.

Both Hicks and Holmes started all 26 games for the Lancers this year. They were seventh and ninth respectively in scoring in the conference.

The Lancers finished the regular season 21-5 overall, 14-4 in the PacWest. CBU finished second in the conference in the team's inaugural season as a PacWest member.
