RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- With just four matches as a member of the Pacific West Conference under her belt, California Baptist University's Ingrid Carmona is already making headlines as the conference's Player of the Week.

The honor was announced Monday by the conference office, making Carmona the first ever Lancer to win the PacWest award.

The junior from Santo Domingo, D.R. helped lead CBU to four-straight three-set wins this past weekend at the Cal Poly Pomona Tournament. Carmona led the Lancers totaling 47 kills, seven aces and five block assists in 11 sets played. Her 5.14 points per set rank second (by percentage points) in the PacWest for the week, while her .359 hitting percentage landed her fifth. She leads the Lancers, who have yet to lose a set this season, with 4.27 kills per set and is second on the team with 34 digs.

Carmona is one of three returning All-Americans on the CBU squad and is the only one to earn first-team honors last season. She also won three GSAC Player of the Week awards last season and was named to the All-GSAC team.
