SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. --- In its inaugural season in the Pacific West Conference, California Baptist University has been picked to finish second in the league's Preseason Women's Volleyball Coaches Poll.

The Lancers totaled 85 points in the poll, receiving two first place votes. BYU Hawaii was tabbed to finish first in the conference with 94 points and six first place votes. CBU was the only other team with multiple first place votes.

The Lancers open their first season of Pac West play returning four starters from last season's 33-6 team, three of which were NAIA All-Americans in 2010. CBU made it's seventh straight National Tournament appearance last season, finishing in the quarterfinals for the second straight year.

BYU Hawaii and Hawaii-Hilo shared the Pac West Conference title last season, with BYU Hawaii taking the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament because of a season sweep of the Vulcans. UHH was tabbed third in the preseason poll, garnering 79 points and one first place vote.
