PHOENIX, Ariz. --- The PacWest Media Office released the 2012 Preseason All-PacWest Volleyball Team Thursday and California Baptist University's Ingrid Carmona was named the Preseason Player of the Year.

Carmona was the top vote-getter for the All-PacWest Preseason Team, which was voted on by coaches in the 14-team league. The honor comes after she was named PacWest Newcomer of the Year and All-PacWest first team last season.

The Preseason Predicted Order of Finish was also released on Thursday and CBU was tabbed third. The Lancers picked up 155 points in the preseason poll, garnering one first place vote. Defending conference champs BYU-Hawaii was picked first in the poll with 194 points and 12 first place votes, and Grand Canyon was tabbed second with 164 points and one first place nod.

Carmona was one of five players on the 10-athlete team who was on last year's All-PacWest first team. She was the only Lancer named to the preseason all-conference squad. Carmona led the PacWest in both total kills and points last season, ripping a conference best 579 kills and accounting for 644 of the Lancers' points.

The senior from Santo Domingo, D.R. helped lead the Lancers to a 27-10 overall, 11-5 PacWest record last season, finishing third in the conference standings. Carmona is one of six returners from last year's squad which won an NCCAA National Title.

The PacWest will grow by four teams this season after adding new members Azusa Pacific, Fresno Pacific, Point Loma and Holy Names.
