Rivera, who becomes the 20th Lancer all-time to be drafted, was selected in the 35th round (No. 1,075 overall).
"We are extremely proud of Devyn and look forward to following him during his professional career," said CBU Head Coach Gary Adcock, who has now had nine players selected during his nine-year tenure in Riverside. "He played such a vital role in our past two championships and will be missed immensely."
In two seasons at CBU, Rivera was 15-4 with a 3.85 ERA. In 138 total innings he had 135 strikeouts and opponents hit just .229 against him.
Rivera was a two-time conference pitcher of the week, including Pacific West Conference Pitcher of the Week honors on Feb. 27 when he tossed eight shutout innings, allowing just two hits and striking out nine against Dixie State two days earlier. He was also named to the Preseason All-PacWest Team, the Lancers' lone representative.
The right-hander from Gilbert, Ariz., becomes the fifth pitcher selected in the draft under Adcock, and it is the third straight draft the Lancers have had at least one player selected.
CBU finished the 2012 campaign 43-13 overall, winning its third straight conference title, going 31-9 in its first season in the PacWest. It was the Lancers' third straight 40-win season, which culminated in winning the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) World Series.
