Jorden has released the Lancers' 2012 roster. The 25-man squad includes 17 returnees, nine of which were starters in 2001, and eight newcomers, all of whom bring quality experience at high levels.
"I'm really excited about this group of newcomers and believe they will take us forward as we continue to improve the quality of our team," said Jorden. "They are exactly what we are looking for athletically and all bring a high soccer IQ, which should combine well with what we have coming back."
The incoming class includes six freshman and two NCAA Division I transfers.
Thomas Carter (Calvary Chapel-Murrieta HS/Oral Roberts)
Carter redshirted the 2011 season at NCAA Division I Oral Roberts. He played four varsity seasons at Calvary Chapel-Murrieta, graduating in 2011, where he was a four-time all-league selection. As a senior, Carter was named all-valley first team and league offensive player of the year, eventually having his jersey retired by Calvary Chapel High at the conclusion of his senior season.
Ian Clark (Tacoma, Wash.-Stadium HS)
A freshman keeper, Clark played just one season at Stadium High in Tacoma, Wash., but also played one of the top club teams in Washington. Clark helped lead Stadium High to the 4A State Championship as a 2010 sophomore earning all-league honors in the process. On the club circuit, Clark played for Washington Premier before joining Crossfire Premier where he helped his team advance to the Academy playoffs and finishing among the top 14 teams in the country. Along the way, Clark was a part of four club state championship teams.
Dominic Escalera (Riverside-La Sierra HS)
A local product, Escalera was an All-CIF first team, All-Inland Empire first team and All-Inland Valley League first team honoree as a 2012 senior at La Sierra High in Riverside. Escalera also played two seasons of varsity football.
Chris Gaitan (Temecula-Great Oak HS)
Gaitan prepped at Great Oak High in Temecula, Calif., earning a pair of All-Southwestern League honors and leading the Wolfpack to three league titles. He also helped Great Oak win the CIF Championship in 2009 and was a three-time scholar-athlete award honoree.
Timothy Herrera (Fontana-A.B. Miller HS)
Herrera played three seasons at A.B. Miller High in Fontana where he was named All-San Bernardino County and All-Citrus Belt League as a 2011 junior after scoring seven goals in league play. He scored five times a senior midfielder and earned most improved as a sophomore.
Paul Oliver (Overland Park, Kan.-Blue Valley North HS/Oral Roberts)
Oliver started all 16 of his appearances at right back at NCAA Division I Oral Roberts in 2012. He scored twice and had two assists to lead the Golden Eagles to a runner-up finish in the Summit League Tournament. He also spent time with the Sporting Kansas City MLS Reserves and their Academy Team. As a prep, Oliver earned All-State honors and led Blue Valley North High in Overland Park, Kan., to the state championship game.
Braeden Pilcher (Vacaville Christian HS)
Pilcher played four seasons at Vacaville (Calif.) Christian High where he was a three-time all-league selection. He finished his career with 39 goals and 29 assists, including 22 goals and eight assists as a 2012 senior.
Josh Robinson (Pasadena-Maranatha HS)
Robinson prepped four varsity seasons for head coach Evan Loomis at Maranatha High in Pasadena, Calif. His father, Daniel Robinson, played on the Bermuda National Team.
