ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. --- After one round of play at the Lamkin Grip/Cal Poly Invitational, California Baptist University sits in eighth place.

The Lancers shot a 337 to sit in a tie with Southern Utah for the eighth spot in the field.

"It was a tough day on a tough course and the scores weren't quite where we wanted them to be," said Head Coach Lane Pace. "With the leader only shooting 319 though, nobody really put up good numbers. All we can worry about is tomorrow now."

Santa Clara shot the 319 to currently lead the invitational, while host Cal Poly and Grand Canyon each fired a 323 to sit in second.

Kirsten Keyser led CBU with an 83, followed by Nathalie Silva at 84 and Samantha Roberts and Nicollett Gino at 85. Kayla Jech rounded out the five with a 97. Keyser is in 26th place.

Stephanie Kim of Northern Arizona leads the tournament with a one-over 74 on Monday.

The final round of play tees off at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning.
