BRIDGEPORT, Penn. --- Currently on an 11-game win streak and with a recent win over No. 16 Hartwick, California Baptist University has cracked into the Top 20 polls, as announced in the Collegiate Water Polo Association's (CWPA) Week 10/March 28 varsity poll.
CBU is currently ranked No. 20.
The Lancers were mentioned as "Received Votes" in the CWPA's preseason and first two polls. Following a 1-5 season start, CBU dropped out of the polls before hitting a turning point in a win against Vanguard on Feb. 17. CBU reentered the polls as "RV" on March 7 and have since been listed.
With under a month left in the season, CBU still awaits matchups with two top-5 programs and four top-20 teams.
"There are still some big chances for us to move even further up the national rankings," Head Coach Jacob Medina said.
Still remaining on the Lancers' schedule are No. 4 Arizona State (4/14), No. 8 San Diego State (4/16), No. 15 UC Santa Barbara (4/17), No. 16 Hawaii (4/14), No. 17 CSU Northridge and No. 18 UC San Diego (4/6).
Up next, CBU travels to play Redlands, who is currently stands at No. 4 in the CWPA's Div. III polls.
