RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- Levi Cabral had 13 kills and hit .409, and the NAIA's No. 1-ranked California Baptist University served eight aces in making quick work of Rutgers-Newark, 25-12, 25-10, 25-21, Tuesday night in the Van Dyne Gym.

The win is the Lancers' eighth straight win as they improve to 17-5. It is their fifth straight three-game sweep. The Scarlet Raiders fall to 13-6.

Cabral committed just four errors on 22 swings and also had five digs. He accounted for 13.5 of the Lancers' 46.5 points. Mohamed Khattab had six kills, two aces and two digs. Mike MacNeill served half of the Lancers' aces to go along with a match-high six digs and three kills on three swings.

The Lancers hit .284 (33-14-67), including .500 (8-2-12) in the first set. They held Rutgers to just .014 (19-18-72).

Ricky Brazee had three blocks. Blair Penner had two blocks to go along with three digs, an ace and 31 assists.

CBU scored 12 of the first 15 points to open the match and eventually opened an 18-5 lead on an ace by Aaron McCalmont. The Lancers never led by less than nine the rest of the set. The Lancers never trailed the entire night, and there were just five ties in the three sets combined.
