Wes Schneider begins his second season at the helm for CBU after guiding the Lancers through their first year of competition in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) in 2013.

Playing in the NCAA Division I-II men's volleyball conference for the first time in program history, Schneider helped guide CBU to a 16-14 overall, 12-12 MPSF record and a sixth place finish in what is perennially the toughest league in the country. CBU climbed as high as fifth in the NCAA Division I-II national rankings, knocking off top-ranked and eventual national champions UC Irvine, No. 4 UCLA, No. 5 Pepperdine and No. 7 UC Santa Barbara over the course of the season. In all, 12 of CBU's 16 wins came against teams ranked at the time in the Top 15 and all but two of the teams losses came at the hands of ranked opponents.

Schneider came to CBU after serving as the head women's volleyball coach at NCAA Division II member Lees-McRae for two years.

Prior to serving as the head coach for the Bobcats, Schneider served as an assistant coach at LMC for a year, helping to lead the program to three straight regular season and tournament titles in the Conference of the Carolinas. Under Schneider's watch the Bobcats won 49 straight league matches, a streak that dates back to 2009, with a 13th overall conference championship coming in 2011.

Schneider amassed a 52-17 overall record as the Bobcat's head coach, going a perfect 36-0 in conference play during his tenure at LMC. He was named the Conference of the Carolinas Coach of the Year this past season and has coached a total of eight All-Conference players, one Conference Player of the Year and one NCAA Division II All-American.

Schneider also worked with the men's volleyball program at LMC, helping the Bobcats to a 16-10 record in 2011 and an 11-9 record in 2012.

Before heading to LMC, Schneider spent two seasons as the assistant coach under Jon Stevenson in 2007-2008 at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Prior to his stint at Cal Poly, Schneider served as the men's and women's head coach at Hope International. While at HIU, Schneider's men's team set the school's single-season wins record in 2006, posting a 15-7 mark and claiming the seventh spot in the final AVCA rankings. Prior to his elevation to head coach at HIU, Schneider served as the assistant coach for five seasons.

Schneider began his playing career at Golden West Junior College before transferring to Loyola Marymount. While at Loyola, Schneider averaged 4.30 kills per game and tallied 205 digs in his first season with the Lions. During his senior campaign at Loyola, Schneider average 3.70 kills per game while totaling 196 digs.

Schneider received his bachelor's in psychology from Loyola Marymount in 1996 and in 2012 earned a master's in coaching from the United States Sports Academy.

He and his wife Nicole have two daughters, Mia and Allie, and a son Toby.
