RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- The defending PacWest champions have big goals in mind for this upcoming cross country season. Head Coach Ben Gall believes California Baptist University can repeat as PacWest champions, and that's the main focus once again this season.

The Lancers return many runners that were vital to the team's success last season, all who were part of the All PacWest team. Trevor Henson, Chris Cline, Victor Delgado, and Mark Langworthy to mention a few, look to have big years once again on the men's side. Ashlee Cervantes, Bethany Bilton, and Malaysia Alexander are a few of the women to watch out for this season as well.

Notable newcomers on the men's side are transfer Talal Khan, freshman Lucas Graham, and freshman Garrett Williams. Three women transfers, Jennifer Mallen, Natalie Ball, and Raizah Singh also look to help out the Lancers team immensely.

"Succeeding as a team is what's important to us," said Gall. "Obviously its great to improve individually, and those accomplishments are important, but we want to push each other and succeed together as a group."

Both the men and women's teams finished in the top three at the NCCAA championships last season as well, and that's also another goal the Lancers have this year. This Lancer team has a lot of experience and talent that can lead them a long way.

The Lancers' season starts off this Saturday Sept. 8th at the UC Irvine Invitational where they will face fellow PacWest foes Azusa Pacific and Grand Canyon among others.
