Dalton, Ga. --- The National Collegiate Wrestling Association (NCWA) has released its brackets for its 2011 NCWA National Duals, and California Baptist University is the No. 1-seed.
The 20-team tournament is being hosted on the campus of Georgia Southern University in Dalton, Ga.
"We are facing the unknown as the new kids on the block in the
NCWA," said CBU Head Coach John Petty. "This will be our first real look
at most of these schools and based on what I saw at the All-Star Challenge two
weeks ago, there are some tough competitors in the NCWA. We are not
overlooking any team and respecting everyone in the 21 team tournament. I am
very confident that we will have a good showing this weekend because our guys
are prepared due to their efforts in training and due to the experienced gained
from wrestling against the opponents that we have faced so far this season."
CBU is currently 4-8 in dual matches this season.
The Lancers' lineup will be similar to its lineup at last weekend's duals with San Francisco State, Grand Canyon, Air Force, Cal State Fullerton and Menlo.
CBU Lineup
125 - #7 Jimmy Martinez (13-12)
133 - #21 Landon Saldana (10-17)
