SAN FRANCISCO --- Zach Merrill earned a major decision, and California Baptist University reeled off six other decisions, winning seven of 10 weight classes in a 22-10 victory at NCAA Division II No. 20-ranked San Francisco State Friday afternoon.

The Lancers have now won seven of their last nine dual matches, finishing their 2012 dual slate at 9-4.

The Gators drop to 4-9.

CBU trailed 7-6 after four weight classes but then won five of the final weight classes, keyed by Merrill's 12-2 win over Otillio Gonzalez at 285. His victory gave the Lancers a 13-7 lead and followed Bryce Wilson's first dual win of the season, a 3-1 overtime win over Thomas Martin at 197.

From there, Jimmy Martinez (125) and Alex Anunciation (133) put the match away, giving the Lancers a 19-7 lead with decisions. Anunciation was one point away from a major, beating Julian Perez 11-4.

Bronson Gerl (157) and Kenneth Tribble (174) gave the Lancers an early 6-3 lead, and then Dylan Cataline put the icing on the cake with a 7-6 win over Dylan Phillipy at 149 in the final match of the day.

The Lancers will compete in the California Collegiate Open hosted by San Francisco State all day Saturday.
