The 10-team field was announced Sunday. The teams are divided into two pools of five teams and will play four games in a round-robin, pool play format beginning Wednesday May 16 in Mason, Ohio. The top two from each pool advanced to Friday's semifinals. The championship game is Saturday May 19.
Every game at the World Series is seven innings.
The Lancers (38-12) begin play Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. (Pacific) against seventh-seed Bluefield (29-27) and then play again Wednesday at 5 p.m. (Pacific) against No. 6-seed Malone (31-21).
Pool play continues Thursday when the Lancers play No. 10-seed Mid-Continent (25-35) at 11 a.m. (Pacific) before concluding pool play against Oklahoma Wesleyan (38-23) at 5 p.m. (Pacific). Oklahoma Wesleyan is coached by former Lancer assistant Matt Parker.
If the Lancers win their pool, then their semifinal game will be Friday at 5 p.m. (Pacific). If they finish second, then it will be at 2 p.m. (Pacific) against the first place team from Pool A.
The championship game is Saturday at 10 a.m. (Pacific).
Each of the Lancers' two pool play games on Thursday as well as both semifinal games and the final will be streamed live on the internet with a video and audio feed. Every game will be available on live stats as well as on CBU's Twitter feed @cbulancers.
