Michele Vasquez is beginning her 20th season as an athletic trainer at California Baptist. Vasquez oversees all athletic training responsibilities for men's and women's basketball and all aquatics sports, including water polo and swimming and diving.

During her time at CBU, she has also served as an associate professor of kinesiology, teaching such courses as adaptive physical education, nutrition, biomechanics, therapeutic modalities, evaluation of athletic injuries, exercise physiology and others. In 2000, Vasquez received Who’s Who Among American Teachers.

Prior to coming to California Baptist in the summer of 1993, Vasquez spent two years (1991-93) as an assistant athletic trainer at Widener University in Chester, Pa. She also served as a physical education instructor. From 1989-1991 she was the head athletic trainer at Central Bucks West High in Doyelstown, Pa.

Vasquez completed her bachelor’s in physical education at Long Beach State in 1988 and then earned her master’s in education with an emphasis in sports medicine from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1993. She has her NATABOC certification and is CPR and First Aid certified.

Vasquez lives in Riverside with her two daughters, Elena (14) and Olivia (10).
