RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- California Baptist University's tradition of achieving both athletic and academic success was carried on with the announcement of two Lancers being named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Scholar-Athletes in NCAA Division II for the 2013-14 track season.

Veronica Hall and Naomi Van Setten both earned the honors for CBU. The duo made the cut by maintaining a minimum of a 3.3 grade-point average and posting a provisional qualifying time for the NCAA Division II Championships, with the official announcement coming Tuesday. Hall posted a national provisional time in the 1500-meter, while Van Setten earned hers in the steeplechase.

Hall, a junior exercise science major, and Van Setten, who just finished her senior year in pre physical therapy, have a history of academic success for the Lancers. Both were PacWest All-Academic student-athletes, with Van Setten also grabbing the honor in 2013.
