RIVERSIDE--- California Baptist University reaped more hardware from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference committee for the seventh time this season.
The Lancer men triumphed over Claremont Mudd-Scripps on Friday, and defeated Fresno Pacific and Concordia in a double-dual meet Saturday. CBU also remains in the top-25 rankings in NCAA Division II in a tie for 16th.
Josh Hanson was dubbed the RMAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week for the second time this year after posting career-best times against Fresno Pacific and Concordia. Newcomer, Chris Carlberg, earned Diver of the Week honors after runner-up marks in his first two appearances with CBU this season.
It stretches the Lancers' run of dominance in the conference, as they have taken home 20 of the 28 conference awards released so far this season. RMAC did not recognize a swimmer or diver of the week for the women, due to only two teams competing during the week.
Hanson grabbed first in all five events he competed in over the weekend, with NCAA Division II “B” standard times in the 200-yard butterfly and 400 individual medley of one minute 51.40 seconds and 4:02.65, respectively. He clocked in at 2:58.41 and 3:19.31 in the 300 IM and 300 breast, respectively. Hanson also placed first in the 200 breast with a time of 2:06.19.
Carlberg scored a 234.10 and 204.20 on the 1-meter platform against CMS and FPU/CUI respectively. In the 3-meter event he tallied a score of 248.80 against CMS and 220.50 against FPU/CUI.
The Lancers host nationally-ranked UC San Diego for their final home meet of the season, Jan. 18th at 12 p.m.
