RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- The PacWest gave honors to four California Baptist University cross country runners for the week of Oct. 21-27.

Garrett Williams was named men’s cross country Runner of the Week for his 24th place finish among 113 other runners in the 8k event at the Biola Invitational Saturday. Williams led the Lancer men with a personal-best time of 26:31. 

Kimberly Carter earned the women’s cross country Runner of the Week award for her improved time of 19:46.5 in the 5k event. Carter led the Lancer women with her 43rd spot finish among 143 total runners.

Jeremiah Gotts and Alysa Avila both earned Freshman of the Week honors for their outstanding performances on the week. Gotts finished fourth for CBU and was the only freshman to finish in the Top 5 with his time of 27:47.7. Avila finished in second for the Lancer women posting a time of 20:03.5 and finishing 50th overall.

Both the men and women’s team finished eighth overall in the invite.
