LAS VEGAS, Nev. --- The NCA Collegiate Cheer Camp in Las Vegas, Nev. wrapped up Friday and once again California Baptist University returns home with a host of awards including a Gold Paid (automatic) bid to the NCA Nationals in Daytona Beach, Fla.

For the first time in school history the Lancers posted the highest score of the entire camp to win the Best All-Around team award. CBU scored a 124, beating out BYU (102) and Orange Coast (74) for the top honors in the camp.

"I am extremely proud of how the girls performed this week," said Head Coach Tami Fleming. "We had the only all-girl team at camp which forced us to compete outside of our division and our comfort level, but we hung in there and did a phenomenal job."

To go along with CBU's Best All-Around award and Gold Paid bid, the Lancers won first in the rally and game day routines, second in the game day run-off, and were named Most Collegiate and Most Spirited. CBU's Caitlyn Jones, Callie McCabe and Kaylee Vidmar were named All-American athletes at the camp and Allyson Sawyer was named an All-American mascot.

The Lancers are coming off the most successful season in program history last year. CBU made its best ever showing at the NCA Nationals in 2012, finishing just 0.05 points away from a title in second place at the championship competition. The Lancers' previous best finish had been fifth place in 2011.
