The 2012-13 season will be Sean Henning's fourth year with the Lancer program. He is currently serving as assistant coach of both the cross country and distance track programs.

On the cross country side, the Lancer men have won two straight PacWest titles in their first two years in the conference while the women won the 2011 title and finished second in 2012.

Over the course of the past two seasons in track, the Lancers have racked up 23 NCCAA All-Americans and six NCCAA individual champions. Also, in the inaugural PacWest Championships in 2013, the Lancers had 12 All-PacWest honorees and three individual champions.

Henning comes to CBU after serving as Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach at Western Christian High School in Upland, Calif., from 2008-2010. This past season, Henning served as the interim head coach for the CBU men's and women's cross country teams, leading the Lancers to PacWest Championships on both sides.

During his time at Western Christian, Henning led his team to back-to-back Christian League Championships and undefeated seasons in 2009 and 2010. After winning the league championship in cross country in 2009, Western Christian finished fifth in the CIF Southern Section finals and eighth in the California State Cross Country Championships. Henning led his team to a league championship in track and field in 2010, coaching nine league champions and had 13 athletes qualify for the CIF Southern Section Championships.

Henning worked at Top Speed Running from 2007-10 and competed with its running club, Top Speed Running Elite.

A graduate of Azusa Pacific University, Henning ran cross country at Azusa Pacific and was a two-time qualifier for the NAIA National Track and Field Championships in the marathon. In 2005, Henning and the Cougars finished fifth at the NAIA Cross Country National Championships. Before running at APU, Henning competed at Fresno State University from 2002-2004.

Henning earned a bachelor's degree in applied health with an emphasis in physical therapy in May 2008. He earned a master's in coaching and athletic administration at Concordia-Irvine in May 2013.

Henning and his wife, Megan, were married in July 2010.
