Jacob Breems begins his second year as the assistant sports information director at California Baptist University.

Breems came on staff in March 2010, covering the 2010 NAIA National Tournaments for men’s volleyball, softball and baseball as well as the 2010-11 NAIA National Tournaments for women's volleyball, men's volleyball and softball. He did play-by-play for all nine games at the softball national championship where the Lancers finished second.

A graduate of CBU, Breems earned a bachelor's degree in history with a minor in journalism in December 2009.

While attending CBU he worked for the award-winning publications “The Banner” and “Angelos,” serving as a senior sports writer and sports editor. Breems also worked with the CBU sports information department as an intern during the fall of 2009, developing feature content for the athletics website.

Breems’ article “Love Mentality” won a Baptist Press Award for best sports copy in 2009.

Breems and his wife Ashley have been married since June 2009. The couple currently resides in Moreno Valley.
