RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- The 2012 cross country season is soon to get underway and California Baptist University Head Coach Ben Gall has released the Lancer women's recruiting class.

Gall has added six runners to his team this offseason, with two of the recruits coming in from the high school level, and four transferring in from the collegiate level.

"We are very excited about this class of athletes," said Gall. "It is a good mix of freshman and transfers that will strengthen our team as we look to defend our PacWest title this fall in Hawaii. The women's team should be very strong, with a lot more depth than in the past. This team will also be the team that helps us move towards our goal of being one of the best teams in NCAA Division II over the next few years."

Jennifer Mallen, (Concordia University-Irvine)
Jennifer was an NAIA All-American in both track and cross country while at Concordia. She finished 17th in cross country nationals in 2010 and 5th in the 2011 Outdoor Track Championships in the 10k. She was also eighth in the NAIA Outdoor Nationals 5k as a freshman in 2010. She will have two years of eligibility while at CBU.

Natalie Ball, (Concordia University-Portland)
Natalie finished in 11th place in the finals of the NAIA championships in the 1500m as a freshman this past spring. She was also a scoring member of the cross country team at Concordia that finished eighth overall at NAIA Nationals. She will have three years of eligibility while at CBU.

Millie Leitich, (Kipsigis Girls High School, Kericho, Kenya)
Millie will redshirt as a freshman her first year as she adjusts to school and life at CBU. "Millie's best times from high school would be CBU records," said Gall of Leitich who ran a 4:35 in the 1500m and 2:12 in the 800m.

Her sister is an NCAA Division I All-American for Eastern Kentucky University with an 800m personal record of 2:06.

Raizah Singh, (Cal State LA)
Raizah was a member of CSLA's 10th place team at the NCAA D-II West Region Championships in 2011 and will be a graduate student at CBU this fall. She has 1.5 years of eligibility remaining.

Georgina Pena, (Cal State Dominiguez Hills)
Pena ran a 20:00 5k cross country time at CSDH, and had a 5:15 in the 1600m and 11:30 in the 3200m as her personal bests in track. Georgina has 3 years of eligibility remaining.

Robyn Munger, (Norco High School)
Munger had a personal best of 18:37 in cross country at Norco last season and also ran a 19:11 at the Mt. SAC cross country meet.
