JOLIET, Ill. --- California Baptist University's sole competitor on Friday, Jacquie Lutz, finished second in the women's 10000 meter race at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Track and Field Championships.
Lutz recorded a time of 37:50.02, finishing behind Danielle Brenon of Houghton (36:32.30) and over a minute ahead of third place finisher Glynnis Meade of Dallas Baptist (39:00.29).
Six more Lancers will compete Saturday in five different events, in which each has recorded a top-three time nationally this season. Sergio Rodriguez starts Saturday in the 3000 meter men's steeplechase, followed by Naomi Van Setten and Bethany Bilton in the women's 3000 meter steeplechase.
Ashlee Cervantes and Chase Williams will each compete in their respective 800 meter races and Mitchell Moore will run in the men's 5K.
