The Lancers won 8-3 in the opener before Tory Ferreira and Tina Galinato powered the Lancers to a 4-0 victory in the nightcap.
Ferreira set a career high with 10 strikeouts in the complete game shutout, throwing seven innings of four hit ball. Ferreira allowed just four singles and gave up no walks in the outing. She moves her PacWest best record to 20-2 with the win.
The Lancers and Knights played even through three innings in the late game until Galinato broke the contest open with a two run triple down the right field line. She would later homer in the sixth, driving in three of CBU's four runs in the game, going 2 for 3 at the plate.
Ferreira didn't allow a single base runner through the final two innings to preserve the shutout, striking out the side in the final frame.
In the opener the Lancers scored eight runs on 10 hits, jumping out to a 4-1 lead after two innings. Mara Rodriguez got the Lancer offense rolling right off the bat, hitting a solo-shot in the second at-bat of the game, her 11th homer of the season.
Lindsay Henry led the Lancers, driving in three runs in the opener. She hit a two run double in the second inning to help the Lancers get off to their quick start.
Art U scored a pair of runs in the fifth to make it 7-3, but wouldn't get any closer.
Rodriguez was 2 for 4 in the game, driving in two runs and Henry went 3 for 4 at the plate. Andie Banuelos also drove in two runs in the game with a double in the fifth. She was 2 for 4 in the game.
Emma Holden ran her record to 20-4 with a complete game victory in the opener, allowing three runs on eight hits. Holden struck out eight batters and walked none.
CBU chased Art U starter Kimberly Dauer after the fifth inning and would score one more run off reliever Kristin Valdivia.
The Lancers move their season record to 40-6 overall, 23-4 in the PacWest with the win. The Lancers continue to stay one loss ahead of Dixie State in the loss column for first in the conference standings. Art U falls to 20-25, 14-14.
The Lancers and Knights face each other again tomorrow for another doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
