PRIMM VALLEY, Calif. --- In the second day of the Spring Break tournament California Baptist University finished fourth out of nine teams.
The Lancers on the tournament finished with a 596 (306-290), a 16-stroke improvement from Monday's performance.
"Today I saw a lot of good things and it was nice to see the players improve from yesterday," said Head Coach Lane Pace. "As a team we just need to be able to put rounds away and know how to close out. We can take a lot of positives away from this tournament as our main focus will be the conference tournament."
Dixie State College won the tournament with an impressive 284 on the day, finishing with a 584 on the tournament. Texas A&M-Commerce finished second with a 593 and California Lutheran finished third with a 595.
Tim Tait was the leader for the Lancers finishing with a 146 (74-72), Tait finished T-4 on the tournament. Leonard Rooney finished T-8 on the tournament with a 147 (78-69). Steven Watson shot a 150 (75-75), finishing T-16. Fredrick Hannson finished T-23 with a 153 (79-74) and Micah Machado finished T-26 with a 154 (79-75).
California Baptist University's "B" team finished ninth with a 652. Alexander Witt finished with a 78 on the day and led the Lancers in round two. Marshall McBroom led the Lancers in the tournament with a 158 (79-79).
The Lancers will compete next at the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational on April 16-17.
