SAN JOSE, Calif. – Looking to keep its undefeated streak going, California Baptist University took to the Aloha Spirit Championships in head-to-head competition with UC Santa Cruz Saturday.

Both teams performed twice in preliminary and final-round action at the San Jose Convention Center, and will wait for the judges' final results at Sunday's award ceremonies. Routines were judged on stunts, jumps, tumbling, dance and overall execution.

We are using this competition as preparation for nationals coming up next month, so I was excited to get this routine out in front of judges and get some feedback before we head to Florida in April to take the big stage,” head coach Tami Fleming said. “The team has been working really hard, so hopefully that hard work will pay off this weekend.”

The Lancers take to the NCA Collegiate Cheer Nationals in Daytona Beach, Fla., from April 8th to April 12th.
