RIVERSIDE --- California Baptist University put another sweep on the board, taking down Notre Dame de Namur in straight sets Friday night.
It was the Lancers’ second sweep in as many days and the second time CBU has beaten the Argonauts this season as the Lancers won 25-22, 25-16, 25-19 at home.
Parker served up 40 assists on the night, leading CBU to a .344 hitting percentage. Both totals were season-bests for Parker and the Lancers.
After scrapping their way to a win in the opening game, CBU used a six-point run behind the service of Parker in the second to take the lead for good and never look back. The Lancers got three big blocks in the run, two of which came from the combination of Jenna Perry and Jelena Dragovic.
Perry ended the night with a scorching .667 hitting percentage, posting eight kills on 12 attempts with no errors. Perry also assisted on four blocks as CBU held a 7-2 blocking advantage at the net.
“Everyone was hitting their spots and being aggressive tonight,” said Higa. “We started slow a few times, but when we picked it up we really got rolling.”
The Lancers move to 11-6 overall, 8-1 in the PacWest with the win, while NDNU falls to 4-12 and 2-6 in conference. CBU is back in action tomorrow night as they take on Academy of Art to close out the homestand.
