RIVERSIDE --- The 2013 National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) World Series bracket has been released and defending national champion California Baptist University is the top seed in the 10-team field.
The championship tournament, which features four pool play games followed by semifinals and finals, is May 15-18 in Mason, Ohio.
The Lancers, who came out of the loser’s bracket to beat Fresno Pacific twice yesterday to win the West Region Tournament, are in Pool A along with No. 4 Mt. Vernon Nazarene, No. 5 Southeastern, No. 8 Cedarville and No. 9 Oklahoma Christian.
CBU begins play Wednesday at 11 a.m. (Pacific) against No. 8 Cedarville and then plays again against No. 5 Southeastern at 5 p.m. (Pacific). The Lancers complete pool play Thursday with games against No. 8 Oklahoma Christian at 10 a.m. (Pacific) and No. 4 Mt. Vernon Nazarene at 4 p.m. (Pacific).
The top two teams from each pool advance to Friday night’s semifinals. The national championship game is Saturday at 10 a.m. (Pacific).
Pool B features No. 2 Campbellsville, No. 3 Arizona Christian, No. 6 Olivet Nazarene, No. 7 Emmanuel and No. 10 Covenant.
