WALNUT, Calif. --- The Lancers had multiple runners compete at the Mt. Sac Relays and the Bryan Clay Invitational this weekend. The Mt. Sac Relays took place on the campus of Mt. San Antonio College campus and the Bryan Clay Invitational took place on the campus of Azusa Pacific.

Mt. Sac Relays

Jennifer Mallen ran an outstanding time of 36:22.43 in the 10k run and clocked the second fastest time in CBU history behind her own school record. Mallen took 12th place in her heat and defeated 10 other runners along the way in her solid finish.

Lucas Graham ran the men’s 1500m run in 3:55.14 and Chris Cline finished with a time of 4:01.61 for the Lancer men.

Chase Williams also posted an impressive time in the men’s 800m run finishing with a time of 1:53.33 for the Lancers. Williams placed seventh in his heat of 16.

Trevor Henson (9:47.89) and Naomi Van Setten (11:19.87) both finished with solid times in the steeplechase for CBU.

Jacquie Lutz finished of the day at Mt. Sac for the Lancers when she clocked a time of 38:25.60 in the women’s 10k.

Bryan Clay Invitational

Natalie Ball finished the 800m run with a new personal record, finishing fifth in her heat of 12 and posting an impressive time of 2:14.63.  Ball missed the national qualifying time by .23 seconds

Jessica Reeder (1:06.03) and Jacqueline Anderson (1:08.68) both finished first in their heats in the 400m hurdles for the Lancer women.  Anderson’s time was also fast enough for a new personal record.

Van Setten was able to travel back from the Mt. Sac Relays and run strong in the 1500m run.  Van Setten finished with a time of 4:48.27 and finished 10th out of 15 competitors in her heat for CBU.

On the men’s side, Graham had the best finish for CBU in the 1500m finishing with an impressive time of 3:52.91. Despite the strong effort, Graham missed the national qualifying time for the second time this season by less than one second.

“This weekend we had a lot of people who were really tired as they try to prepare for the end of the semester and finals,” said CBU Head Coach Ben Gall.  “I felt like we competed well, but we need to rest up going into the PacWest Championships next weekend.”

CBU will get prepared this week for the PacWest Championships in San Diego, starting April 26th.
