PHOENIX, Ariz. --- California Baptist University’s Matt Daugherty has been named Hawai‘i Tourism Authority Pacific West Conference Player of the Week.

The conference announced the honor Monday for games contested March 25-31.

In eight games, Daugherty hit .594 (19 for 32) and also had 16 runs and 16 RBIs to lead the Lancers to a 7-1 week, taking three of four from Hawaii Pacific and sweeping a four-game series from UH-Hilo.

He also had four doubles and two home runs.

Daugherty hit safely in all eight games, including a school single-game record six hits to go along with six RBIs in the first game of the week, a 20-5 win over Hawaii Pacific. In the series against UH-Hilo, Daugherty was 10 for 15, getting at least two hits in all four games. He also had seven RBIs and nine runs scored.

CBU is currently 21-9 overall, 14-2 PacWest, trailing conference-leader Grand Canyon by just one game in the loss column. The Lancers host Azusa Pacific in a four-game series Thursday-Saturday before hitting the road for their next 12 games.
