RIVERSIDE --- For the ninth consecutive season, California Baptist University men's basketball will be playing in the postseason.

And for the second time in the past three postseason trips and the second time in less than a week, the Lancers will be playing a familiar foe--Azusa Pacific.

The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) has released the West Region playoff bracket and the Lancers are the third seed and will head to meet second-seed Azusa Pacific Tuesday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the Felix Event Center.

Fresno Pacific is the top seed and will host the regional finals Wednesday (March 6) at 7:30 p.m. with the winner of that game earning an automatic bid to the 2013 NCCAA National Championships in Winona Lake, Ind., March 13-16.

Tuesday's game is a rematch of last Thursday's game when the Cougars defeated the Lancers 79-62 in Azusa, earning a split of the season series. The Lancers won the first meeting back on Jan. 15, an 81-69 win in Riverside. CBU and Azusa Pacific also met in the opening round of the 2011 Golden State Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament on March 3, 2011. The Cougars won that one 73-71 in what was the Lancers' final game as a member of the NAIA and the GSAC.

The Lancers have not only made nine consecutive postseason appearances but they have played in the postseason in 19 of the last 20 years.
