RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- California Baptist University's women's golf team got off to a slow start today in day one the Victoria Club Intercollegiate.

CBU placed fifth today out of five teams, and finished with a total of 670.

Grand Canyon came in first today with a 613.

Kirsten Keyser and Samantha Peters brought in the best scores for the Lancers in round one. Keyser and Peters both scored an 84 on the par 72 course.

In round two, Nicollette Gino went +3 for CBU and posted an impressive 75.

Gino's tally of 75 in round two was the second best score overall out of the second round.

Charlotte Jaengkit of Grand Canyon posted a 73.

The Lancers also improved by 10 strokes (340-330) in the second round of the tournament and gained some ground on the rest of the competition.

Oklahoma Christian finished second today (635), and CSU-Monterey Bay and Dixie State both tied for third (651).

CBU looks to gain some ground tomorrow in day two of the Victoria Club Intercollegiate.
