Gomez had a two-RBI single in the fourth.
The Lancers got right back into the game with a trio of runs in the seventh, keyed by RBI singles from Zach Esquerra and Luke Esquerra. The Lancers had the tying run on second with one out, but Taylor Valentine got Andy Crowley to ground into an inning-ending double play.
The Coyotes added one more in the bottom of the seventh on a Gomez single to right center. The Lancers got the tying run to the plate in the ninth when Antonio Chavarria hit a two-out double, but Matt LeVert struck out pinch-hitter Nathan Antoun to finish off his first save of the year.
