RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- It was announced this past weekend that Cheerpros named CBU Head Cheer Coach Tami Fleming California State Coach of the Year.

Cheerpros is the host to the California State Cheer Championships every season and Fleming was acknowledged as the top cheer advisor in the state.

Fleming was honored with the award and edged out many high quality cheer coaches across California. The head cheer coaches at Long Beach City College, UC Riverside, El Camino College and Glendale College were all finalists for the award.

"I am honored to accept this award and hope that I can use it to further the success of our CBU cheer program," said Fleming. "I am blessed to have a job that I love that is surrounded by great athletes and the best coaching staff. It was truly a special day and I am pleased to be recognized for all of our accomplishments."

CBU begins its cheer season on Feb. 23 at the Sharp International Regional Championships in Buena Park, Calif.
