ST. GEORGE, UTAH --- A pair of big runs to open each half was more than enough for two-time defending Pacific West Conference Champion Dixie State as the Red Storm defeated California Baptist University 67-51 Saturday night.

The loss snaps the Lancers' two-game winning streak as they fall to 9-5 overall, 3-3 PacWest. The 51 points is a season-low for the Lancers, who were held to just 57 in a 69-57 loss to Dixie State two weeks ago in Riverside.

The Red Storm, who are now 8-0 at home and 56-9 in the Burns Arena since 2008, improve 12-4, 7-1 with their fifth straight win.

Andrew Fisk led the Lancers with 13 points and eight rebounds. He had nine points and five rebounds in the first half.

Jalen Jury came off the bench and played a season-high 21 minutes, chipping in with a season-high-tying eight points to keep the Lancers in the game in the first half.

Dixie State began the game with a 17-6 flurry, and after the Lancers cut it to three at the half, the Red Storm scored 15 of the first 19 points out of the intermission to open up a double-digit advantage they never lost.

McKay Massey and Zach Robbins led Dixie State with 14 points apiece and Massey hit a pair of 3-pointers in the first six minutes of the game as the Red Storm opened an 11-point lead out of the gate. The Lancers responded behind the solid play of Jury off the bench, who buried a triple and then added a pull-up jumper with 1:02 left to get the Lancers within 27-26.

The Red Storm led 29-26 at halftime and then put the clamps down on the Lancers, limiting the Lancers to just 33.3 percent shooting in the second half. They opened up the second half with a 15-4 spurt and led 44-30 just 5:30 into the half and then opened a 50-33 lead with 13:07 to play, converting off one of the Lancers' 14 turnovers.

CBU got within 12 but Massey drilled his fourth 3-pointer with 8:57 remaining to push the margin back up to 15 (57-42). Eventually, it ballooned to as many as 20 (67-47) with 2:33 remaining. The Red Storm shot 15 for 25 (60 percent) in the second half.

Luke Evans finished with nine points. Leading scorer Anthony Cosentino, who is eighth in the PacWest averaging 15.5 points, was held scoreless for the first time this year. He put up just three shots.
