BRIDGEPORT, Pa. --- The Collegiate Water Polo Association released its preseason women's water polo rankings on Jan. 16. 

The CWPA placed California Baptist University at No. 18, tied with Brown University. 

Last season, CBU ended the year ranked No. 19 in the country and reached as high as No. 17 during the season.

Much of the Lancers 2013 competition was ranked in the top-20 as well. CBU faces 12 other teams that are currently ranked, including No. 1 Stanford, No. 2 USC, No. 3 UCLA and No. 5 Arizona State. 

They open their season against No. 8 Loyola Marymount on Saturday, Jan. 19.
