Following much of the same script as Friday's win over No. 10 Loyola-Chicago, CBU and Lewis split the opening two sets before the Lancers came on strong and took the final two, winning 25-22, 23-25, 25-16, 25-23.
The Lancers dominated play in the rubber game, blasting the Flyers with 12 kill, committing just three errors and posting a match-high .562 hitting percentage.
CBU jumped out to an 8-3 lead and never let Lewis get closer than three the rest of the way. Levi Cabral helped the Lancers take over in the game, ripping seven of his 18 kills in the third set.
For the second time this season Guilherme Koepp led the team with 20 kills. He hit .452 and also had seven digs in the match.
CBU was down midway through the third game, but rallied back with a 5-1 run to take a 16-15 lead.
The Lancers went up 24-20 late before Lewis made it interesting with three straight points, but Cabral put the match away with a kill.
The Lancers held the dig advantage in the match, 30-20, but still committed four more attack errors and six more service errors. CBU's higher termination rate on their attacks helped the Lancers put Lewis away as the team hit .303 in the contest to just .170 by the flyers.
The Lancers move to 2-1 on the season.
CBU will be back in action Jan. 16 when the team opens its first season of MPSF play with a rematch against No. 1 UC Irvine. The Anteaters handed CBU its only loss in the first game of play at the UCSB Invitational.
