KANSAS CITY, Kan. --- Two-time defending National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Champion California Baptist University not only excels on the field, but the Lancers excel in the classroom as well landing five players on the 2012 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Division Scholar All-America Team.
The NSCAA announced the team Tuesday morning.
Junior Pacific West Conference Player of the Year Bernadette Witz added to her trophy case as she earned first team honors. Witz, from Temecula, Calif., earned her spot on the team with a 3.48 GPA in marketing.
Meagan Bellefeuille (3.62-foundational mathematics), Katie Rumfola (3.44-kinesiology), Kristen Witchey (3.90-kinesiology) and Channing Perea (3.65-marketing) all received honorable mention.
The Lancers finished 2012 with a school-record tying 18-2-1 record and a second straight PacWest and NCCAA National Championship.
