But Cal State San Bernardino closed the game with a 12-3 run over the final four minutes, turning a seven-point deficit into a 71-69 non-conference victory over the Lancers at Citizens Business Bank Arena Monday night.

CBU falls to 6-1 with the loss, while the Coyotes improve to 4-1.
The Lancers limited the Coyotes to just 39.1 percent shooting, but the Lancers committed a season-high 23 turnovers, which turned into 26 Cal State points. Four of those turnovers came in the final four minutes, helping the Coyotes rally.
CBU took a 66-59 with 4:22 to play on a pair of Anthony Romero free throws but made just one more field goal the rest of the way. The Coyotes chipped away and got within two on a dunk off an offensive rebound by Kwame Alexander to get with two again. After a missed 3-pointer by Cosentino, former Lancer Johnny Bell's 3-point play with 1:08 left gave the Coyotes their first and final lead of the night. Another Lancer turnover led to a free throw by Alexander with nine seconds left.
Cosentino's layup rolled off the rim as time expired.
CBU scored the opening bucket and never trailed until the final minute. They led by as many as 10 when a steal and Andrew Fisk dunk gave them a 30-20 lead with 5:48 to play. A Goins 3-pointer ended the first half and got Cal State within 39-35 at the intermission.
The Lancers scored the first five points of the second half to go back up by nine and again led 50-41 with 13:36 to play on a Cosentino layup. Cal State responded with nine straight over 1:09 to tie the game at 50-50. Kevin Crabb converted a 3-point play on the ensuing possession to give the Lancers the lead again, which eventually ballooned up to seven three different times before Romero's free throws.
CBU shot 45.3 percent and went 20 for 28 (71.4 percent) from the free throw line. It was just 1 for 12 from beyond the arc.
Fisk grabbed 10 rebounds to go along with six points. Crabb (eight rebounds) and Kyle Wong both finished with nine points. The Lancers out-rebounded the Coyotes 46-32.
